Galaxy Watercolor Accident

Updated: Mar 22, 2022

I first had the idea for my Rainbow Panda, and I attempted to make the background for it. I thought watercolor would work the best because it would blend well, which was true, but it ended up blending too well. I was splattering many different classes all over and tried using a sponge to blend the colors. I had it lying flat on the ground instead of upright on my easel so the colors wouldn't drip. I had splattered another layer of colors on top of that and just decided to let it dry and see how it would turn out. But when it dried, it ended up looking like this...

The result was not what I was trying to do at all. I felt like I wasted my time and a canvas, but I kept looking at it, and I started to think it looked kind of cool. I've always struggled with doing abstract paintings that I'm happy with, and I thought this could be my start. I called it the Galaxy Watercolor because it looked like one with all the different colors, but mainly purples and dark blues. I wasn't sure how I would sign it because I want whoever buys it to have it the position they prefer and not having my signature deciding that. I'll probably Sign it smaller than I usually do in one of the corners. I did another time-lapse video for this, and I think it's probably my best one.
