Painting for a Cause

Updated: Aug 3, 2021

In the fall of 2015, the terrorist attacks in Paris happened, and I was distraught. The next day I was despondent because of a mix of that and personal reasons, so I decided to paint, and I came up with this. I painted the French flag distressed and then painted the Pray for Paris symbol over it in a sloppy way. When I fished this, I wanted to do some good with it. I wanted to do something that would help in some way. So I looked up the best place to donate money to help Paris, and the Red Cross came up. I posted a picture of the painting to my Facebook and my Instagram, saying I'd sell it to the highest offer and then donate the money to the Red Cross. A friend of mine bought it for his friend for $30. It felt terrific to make a sale and then have that money go to a good cause that I believe in. I want and plan to do more pieces like this in the future.
